Seed Eating Birds
These birds are referred to as Granivores and obtain much of their energy from carbohydrate such as starch found in seeds & grain. They include many popular aviary and pet birds such as Budgies, Parrots, Cockatoos, Canaries, Finches, Pigeons, Doves & Quail. In the wild granivorous birds eat a wide variety of fresh green seed, other plant material as well as insects for additional protein. In captivity however, granivores are often maintained on dry seed diets, which are deficient in many vitamins, minerals and essential nutrients.
Our products include Parrot Pellets and Crumbles, which provide a balanced maintenance diet, that is nutritionally superior to dry seed. We also make high protein breeding supplements including Egg & Biscuit, Budgie Starter, Parrot Soft Food & Finch Soft Food. For hand raising baby birds we recommend Passwell Hand Rearing Food or Wombaroo Granivore Rearing Mix. We also supply a special colour-enhancing seed mix for Red Factor Canaries.
